NRS: Social Justice
Power must be
held accountable.
Someone has to
do the holding.
A network of lawyers who speak truth to power and take the consequences.
Why this network exists
The law is not neutral.
It never was.
It has been written, interpreted, and enforced by those already holding power. Against those who challenge it. Against those it was never designed to protect.
And yet the law is also the terrain on which power can be contested. Precedents broken. Rights named. Accountability enforced.
This network is not
about charity.
It is about accountability.
Charity asks nothing of power. Accountability demands everything. These lawyers are not here to soften the blow but to name what happened, find who is responsible, and make it matter in a courtroom.
That is political work. We say so plainly.
What connects NRS research
to this network.
Research names the problem. Law makes the state answer for it. We believe knowledge that cannot be acted upon is incomplete. This network is the action.
